Snow racquets magical Bondeno

Snow racquets are by far the easiest way to get around in the snow on excursions at the very heart of nature. It’s a fun and engaging activity, much appreciated by those who wish to discover the magic and spectacle of Alpine nature in wintertime, far from the confusion of the ski slopes. Among the countless possible destinations in Valle Spluga we have selected one that offers ease of access to everyone, including families with children. An itinerary where winter hiking fits nicely within the many outdoor activities in the valley. Our destination is Bondeno, amongst the most picturesque of alpine nuclei with stunning panorama. The route is classed as “easy” hence also suitable for the little ones. We leave from Fraciscio, at around 1300 metres, in the municipality of Campodolcino, and a round trip to Bondeno (1645 m) and back will take about 2 hours. Bondeno comprises a typical group of baite, mountain huts which overlook Valle Spluga. The route is well signposted. Leave the car at Fraciscio and take the road that heads to Mottala and Gualdera. You’ll soon find yourself on snow within the dense woodland that surrounds, gradually gaining height without too much effort. A magical experience and you’ll no doubt catch glimpses of the local wildlife along the way, a joy in itself. An unmissable opportunity to head off on all manner of winter outings - check out the many other alternatives.
